dared him to respond to the Village People advertisement: "seeking gay singers and
dancers, very good-looking and with mustaches." He figured he had a mustache, so he
figured he would apply for the position. His mustache was the deciding factor in his
selection, he had very little talent, but has a great mustache.
There was a Deep Purple vocalist with the same name, Glen Hughes. There is no
relation between the two people.
In 2001, Glenn died of lung cancer. Before his death, Glenn kept in contact with over
35,000 fans thru e-mail. In honor to his fame, he was buried in his leatherman outfit.
There will be no Village People reunion for Glenn.
